About the Blog

This blog was born out of a love for reading and a desire to share that love with others. I’ve designed this website with a few groups in mind:

  • readers
  • elementary teachers
  • parents who want to help their kiddos read more and better

For readers

I’m glad you’re here! I have loved reading ever since I learned how to. My favorite conversations are those where I’m sharing and receiving book recommendations.

For parents

Parents, I’m new to this role, and I’m learning with you. But having taught elementary school for a decade, I want to give you the resources you need to put quality books in your kids’ hands and the tools to help your kids become excellent readers who enjoy it. Take a look at my:

Values

  • Good books = wholesome; quality literature; satisfying stories; and (usually) clean language
  • I will only personally share books that either I’ve read or that are from a source I trust. I don’t enjoy being surprised by content in a book, so I don’t want to do that to you either!
  • When a book doesn’t meet my standards for clean reading, I’ll give you as much of a content caveat as I can without spoiling the plot.
  • I don’t hold the corner on the market when it comes to finding good books. I want you to share the good books you’ve found too! Use the comments section – that is what it’s there for 🙂
