This blog was born out of a love for reading and a desire to share that love with others. I’ve designed this website with a few groups in mind:
- readers
- elementary teachers
- parents who want to help their kiddos read more and better

For readers
I’m glad you’re here! I have loved reading ever since I learned how to. My favorite conversations are those where I’m sharing and receiving book recommendations.
You’ll want to check out:
– my recent reads book reviews
– book lists
– book talk posts
Comment on the posts and share them with other bookish folk!
For teachers
You have my heart, teacher. I’ve been part of your crowd for a decade now. I know the struggles, the joy, and the constant search for ways to reach every student. Just for you:
– my teacher posts,
– posts where I review kid lit
– Wholesome Books for Preteens series
– 50 Read-Alouds List
If something helps you, please share it!
For parents
Parents, I’m new to this role, and I’m learning with you. But having taught elementary school for a decade, I want to give you the resources you need to put quality books in your kids’ hands and the tools to help your kids become excellent readers who enjoy it. Take a look at my:
– Things Good Readers Do series
– Wholesome Books for Preteens series
– 10 Children’s Authors and Illustrators
Values
- Good books = wholesome; quality literature; satisfying stories; and (usually) clean language
- I will only personally share books that either I’ve read or that are from a source I trust. I don’t enjoy being surprised by content in a book, so I don’t want to do that to you either!
- When a book doesn’t meet my standards for clean reading, I’ll give you as much of a content caveat as I can without spoiling the plot.
- I don’t hold the corner on the market when it comes to finding good books. I want you to share the good books you’ve found too! Use the comments section – that is what it’s there for 🙂
